About the Image(s)

This is one of my favorite valleys in Switzerland taken from the village of Wengen. We were there in June a few years ago and it rained a lot but it created some atmospheric scenes with low lying cloud and mist. I liked how the clouds gave this image some drama and it was a good view point to see down the valley. I processed in Topaz, added a bit of structure in Viveza and put Tonal Contrast in Color Efex Pro to give it more color. 1/200, F8 ISO400.

I spent some time in this valley a few years ago. It is a beautiful place to visit. You had some weather conditions to contend with. Some sunshine would have been nice. To me the image still looks a bit flat. Maybe some more contrast and maybe adding a glow filter or sunshine filter would give it more life. I want it to pop out and invite me in.   Posted: 10/08/2021 16:56:40

What an inspiring and beautiful place. Your image makes me want to go there (keep dreaming!). I think Pamela's suggestion about adding contrast has merit. I would do it by selective dodge and burn, or use Viveza for selective adjustments. I like to add a tiny bit of glow to my landscape images. My favorite ones are Diffuse Glow and Rich Glow in OnOne, although Galmor Glow in NIK works well too. I keep the opacity around twenty percent. My final suggestion would be to a a subtle vignette.   Posted: 10/18/2021 15:29:20
