About the Image(s)
Several days ago a six year old amaryllis plant broke into full glorious bloom. In the evening the low sun backlit the petals and produced a diaphanous appearance. I captured the moment with a Canon 80-D, Tamron 16-300 lens at 300mm; ISO 1600; 1/60 sec; f 8. I cropped and processed the raw image in Lightroom, then removed the stem at the right in photoshop using the healing brush.

Wow, you are learning quite a bit in your class. Your image is lovely and delicate. The lines let my eye travel over the petals. The lines of the petals are rich in color.
I would like to see part of the branch that connects to this specific flower. In my opinion it would let my eye wander from it to the flower. It would seem more natural. Well done.

Great impact and appeal. Beautiful. I agree with Lisa even if it is a stronger suggestion of a stem.   Posted: 05/11/2021 18:35:18

You really have nicely defined edges and the white background makes it lean toward a high key image. I agree with the others that the stem would add an anchor for the flower.   Posted: 05/11/2021 19:17:17

The first word that comes to my mind when I look at this image is "ephemeral." I think it is like a silk screen print. The color is lovely and it works well on a white background in my opinion - very artistic. I agree with the others thorugh that at least the suggstion of a stem would improve the image...as it is it seems to be floating in space.   Posted: 05/16/2021 12:29:14

As an abstract I like the image. As a I do agree with the others that including the stem would put it back in the flower realm.
The colors and details on the petals are very pretty and in its current state it almost looks like an image from a microscope slide.   Posted: 05/17/2021 20:10:04
