Panoramic of Beautiful Back Yard by Jerry Hug, APSA

August 2022 - Panoramic of Beautiful Back Yard

About the Image(s)

I used the Pano to make a “short” Panoramic of this beautiful back yard during a Northern Suburban Pond Association Open House event. Used Sanpseed’s HDR and Healing tools. (To stop the Pano tool, I did a reverse direction vs trying to re-tap the shutter button.) Almost every tree on the grounds was planted by the owners. The yard was a barren field of grass and weeds when they purchased the home place.

Nice capture of a lovely piece of "natural" art. The colors are quite beautiful. The image gives a nice reason for going on a "fishing expedition" with one's phone.

Those folks really put in a lot of time and money to make this amazing place. I'm sure it wasn't done in just a year or two, either. The Koi are a great addition. So much to see and enjoy in this pano. The colors are good, but imho, the HDR effect may have opened the shadows and brightened the scene too much, giving it an artificial appearance.

Thanks Bob. Getting the true color is most important and I may have over stepped the boundaries with this interpretation. Jerry

Jerry, I'm certain that's an idyllic spot and your text tells us what went into it. For me when taken in its entirety it's very busy and need a main point of interest. How about making that the koi pond and perhaps darkening the rest, or something like that.   Posted: 08/04/2022 17:06:55

The bright colors really drag people into this scene. This scene with the walkways also bring people into the scene. Well done Jerry!   Posted: 08/05/2022 21:00:36

What a beautiful garden to explore and photograph. I'm glad I don't have to maintain it. I don't know what the wooden structure is at the bottom left but it seems out of place or doesn't connect with the scene so I think I would crop it out. Lots of color going on but for me it's a little over saturated. I think you could find lots of images within the panorama.   Posted: 08/05/2022 21:21:45

Pam, I think you are correct. I also looking at the image again agree with the over saturated colors. I did crop the wooden structure out and like the image much better.

Your pano tool technique did terrific job of capturing the entire scene. I would eliminate wooden structure in lower left as doesn't add to photo. The property owners have done spectacular job of turning weedy patch of land into attractive woodland setting beneficial to nature and mankind. Kudos to you for story telling panoramic image and property owners for beneficial land transformation.   Posted: 08/11/2022 11:13:38
