About the Image(s)

Spring has arrived with the blooming of Virginia Bluebells. Processed (crop and adjust color and brightness) first on the phone edit, then used Snapseed to remove distractions on lower left corner and vignette.

Dick, great editing and your final result is a keeper. I wish your final image was mine. Sharing the before and after sure shows what you can do. Keep this work up and your wife and family will demand more prints to be framed. Jerry   Posted: 05/06/2022 08:35:13

Excellent technique. First stand back a short distance to increase the depth of field (focus). Then follow up later by cropping the image to make the scene look bigger (flowers), add color and you have a cool photo. Good job.   Posted: 05/06/2022 12:08:19

Nice colors and composition. Your choice of edits was effective in presenting the best part of the original. I think I see a mild painterly effect even in the original and I'm not clear what may have provided that, but it works well in an image of flowers. I like the image.

Since the original was not modified at all, the effect is natural. Perhaps that is why Virginia Bluebells are renowned for their beauty. Otherwise, something in the phone editing steps I took may be the cause. I did not try for such an effect. Anybody have a theory?   Posted: 05/06/2022 15:39:02

What a beautiful image. The crop worked well and the colors really pop. I thought you had added some type of effect too like a detail extractor or dynamic contrast as the flowers and leaves are so defined. I have no idea what would produce the effect in the phone but I really like it. Well done.   Posted: 05/09/2022 21:36:09

Your cropping, which removed the browns of the ground, did a great job of isolating the flowers.Good job on color adjustments.   Posted: 05/13/2022 07:30:43
