About the Image(s)

After taking photos of cactus in the desert over a 3 month period, I decided to add some color to the desert. To add the color to the photo, I used Snapseed and Distressed fx.

Great editing Dave. You nailed this image with your creative editing. Sure glad that you took the time to edit this "just ok" shot into a wonderful work. Bravo! Jerry   Posted: 05/06/2022 08:14:36

As Jerry said, you took an OK image and put it over the top. You added not only color, but drama to the image. The tiny separation between the small cactus in the background and the left hand cactus in the foreground is tiny, but important. Nicely done.   Posted: 05/06/2022 10:33:44

Your edits made this a beautiful desert sunset scene. It's a definitely improvement on the original. In the right person's hands, some amazing things can be done with apps like DFX. Nice work.

Wow! I'm blown away by how beautiful this image is with the edits you did. It is amazing what some of these apps can do. Your decision to use DFX was a good one. I like your composition with the two larger cactus in the foreground and two little ones in the background with nice separation. It truely is color in the desert.   Posted: 05/09/2022 21:23:35

A dramatic improvement, indeed! Does anybody know how we could apply the effect to the background but remove it from the cactus. It would require a separate layer for sure and maybe the effort wouldn't be worth it. I was just wondering.   Posted: 05/13/2022 07:22:45

Total change of ambiance really dramatized cactus desert scene. That's what I love about working with photos on our phones. Adaptation in apps can give a totally different perspective on photograph. Remember spending hours trying to change effects in Photoshop. So much easier in phone apps. Your two photos hammer this transition home. Good demonstration.   Posted: 05/14/2022 10:07:28
