About the Image(s)

It's not exactly an unusual image but that center gourd (is it a gourd?) looks different to me.I used the Lens Blur tool in Snapseed to try and isolate that gourd with blur and vignette.

Good job in vignetting to draw the eye to the center of the photo. Putting the bench and gourd, on an angle adds interest to the photo. You are often trying different editing of your images. Thank you for sharing your experiences.   Posted: 11/07/2021 14:29:48

Great fall image. Yield from harvest and strong fall colors in one shot. The edge blur and vignette help to push my eyes into that unusual looking gourd in the center. Was this at a farmer's market? As Dave mentioned, the angle adds interest. Nice shot.

We all seemed to be in fall color mode this round. All are nice and yours is certainly the most different and very intriguing. Was there a reason you decided not to blur the bench even more? It gives some perspective, but also is a bit of a distraction, at least for me. I love the colors and shapes and can let my eyes wander through the image with pleasure.   Posted: 11/08/2021 16:02:00

Richard, I felt the bench was blurred and darkened enough in a far corner to not be a problem. Seemed to add interest without distraction...maybe.   Posted: 11/08/2021 18:17:31

Great Fall colors Sol. So glad you had your camera with you. This image is a great still life.

About Lens Blur. Go wild! Not really, but keep the blur where ever you want it and go max. Then use the stacks - view edits and only paint with the brush in the layer where you want it. Then if you want more, do the whole process over again. You can really control the amount that your want and where. Writing this out makes it sound like a big thing but it is really a simple process with a lot of control. Jerry   Posted: 11/09/2021 06:23:13

Thanks, Jerry for the tip. That process would be useful in this situation.   Posted: 11/13/2021 07:04:28

Agree with others that your skillful use of vignette gives you control of where viewers look at photo and that is the amazing bird like creepy gourd in middle. Good eye for finding the unusual.   Posted: 11/12/2021 07:32:54

We definitely did go on a fall theme trip this month. Love that you went to a more intimate scene. Nice work on isolating the unusual gourd with the blur tool. For me the bench adds a sense of place and is not distracting. I wonder if these are edible or just decorative. Great find.   Posted: 11/13/2021 10:22:33
