Fall Color by Bob Barley

November 2021 - Fall Color

About the Image(s)

Out for a walk on a pleasant fall day, I found this bench overlooking a pond. It was a great place to pause for a few minutes and enjoy the view. The colors popped even more with the "pop" preset in Snapseed, and a small vignette was added too.

Nice photo. The colors match together. This smoothing scene is very inviting. Sit in the swing, read a book and enjoy the day.   Posted: 11/07/2021 14:16:20

This is a great relaxing image. It invites the viewer in and gives a sense of peace. Great fall color in your neck of the woods too!!   Posted: 11/08/2021 15:46:15

Another wonderful fall color shot. I am jealous. A neat resting place on a long walk.   Posted: 11/08/2021 18:51:21

Good composition in setting up this photograph so viewer can imagine sitting on swinging bench and enjoying the peaceful fall scene.   Posted: 11/12/2021 07:16:24

Fine composition here. The placement of the swing and that bunch of colorful leafs at the upper right balance the large tree on the left. Good example of asymmetrical balance.   Posted: 11/13/2021 06:55:00

Thank you for your comments. I, too, thought the branches on both sides added a natural vignette that helped keep my eyes in the frame.

What a beautiful spot to find on a walk. A good place to sit and reflect. Great composition and framing. I envision a person sitting in the swing and wonder how it might add or distract from the image. I use to never want people in my images but have come to realize that if they are a very small part of the composition they can actually enhance the scene.   Posted: 11/13/2021 10:06:44

Thank you for your comments. I had the same thoughts about this shot. I sort of wished I had a person sitting on the swing looking out at the pond. Since the person would be facing away from the camera, it might have been a good addition without being a distraction. Unfortunately, I didn't have a model with me, and no one else was on the walk that I could ask to pose.
