About the Image(s)

I saw this junk near this highway many times, but was never interested enough to stop. Recently, I noticed the stuff was wet, the clouds were in my favor, and the light was perfect. I used Touch/Retouch to remove wires, and Snapseed to lighten up the image, increase the contrast, and improve the orange color of the old highway truck.

This is a nice scene with very nice color. The low hanging clouds seem to press down on the junk trucks and barn(?) shoving them into the ground. Nice job!
BTW did you notice you missed a bit of telephone wire on the left margin? it should be easy to remove.   Posted: 10/02/2021 14:36:55

I thought I removed that wire. Must have posted the wrong one. Oh will, thanks for letting me know.   Posted: 10/02/2021 15:51:07

Very nice Dave. I like your treatment. You could consider a little cropping at the bottom which would bring the center of interest closer. Jerry   Posted: 10/03/2021 09:37:29

I like this shot. The colors are strong and the composition fits the scene. I think you are right that the rain and the clouds really do make the scene better. I always find it interesting that people abandon vehicles on their land and just let them rust away. I see it here, too, primarily in rural settings. There must be a story to go with it.

This is a great story telling image. The brooding clouds add to the drama of the sinking farm house and rusted vehicles. The scattering of wild flowers stands for perseverance. Good composition and colors.   Posted: 10/04/2021 08:06:13

I think you hit the jackpot Dave. I love photographing old rusty trucks. Your timing was perfect as the wet conditions helped bring out the colors in the truck and the stormy clouds really add to the mood of the image.   Posted: 10/08/2021 15:51:43

That orange, rusty and angled derelict house are what make this so impactful for me.The sky almost competes with them but it us a great one.The pile of tires adds to the scene.   Posted: 10/10/2021 17:59:11
