About the Image(s)

Captured on a quiet Sunday morning, this image contrasts old and new. Typical Snapseed processing plus the "faded glow" filter to suggest time passing.

Bob, love this image with out people. The reflections are great. Faded glow? Was the tool Glamor Glow? I like the effect. Jerry   Posted: 06/03/2021 06:54:53

Thank you for your comments. Glad you like the image.

"Faded glow" is a preset that stacks tonal contrast, glamour glow, portrait, and vintage adjustments. It's just one of the standard Snapseed buttons - at least it is on my iPad.

Thanks Bob. I guess I really never looked at or tried the preset. It is really something that I have over looked. Will give it a try when I have a need. Jerry   Posted: 06/04/2021 05:59:17

How did you keep your own reflection out of the image? The overall effect looks like a Harry Potter scene.

Thank you for your comments. Glad you liked the image.

Keeping my reflection out was tricky, I'll admit. I was standing sort of in the alley line and I reached out to my right. The end of the iPhone is visible, but one has to know where to look. Composition was more difficult that way. I shot two or three to get one I liked.

A very quiet scene that causes contemplation. The old building on the right with the reflections could stand on its own. Nicely seen and captured especially without your own reflection and I can't find the phone either. I wonder how it would look in B&W.   Posted: 06/10/2021 21:15:58

The reflection and angle you took really invites one into your image. Nicely done.   Posted: 06/12/2021 11:34:21

It has a nice mood about it. The reflection seems to suggest old but the buildings on the left say modern. For me, this contrast keeps sort of dynamic energy in the frame.   Posted: 06/13/2021 12:40:10
