About the Image(s)
Last December, we went to Germany with friends to tour some Christmas markets. This particular afternoon (it was close to Winter Solstice, around 5 pm) we were in the old city of Trier. The building in the background is the old city hall, surrounded by a group of excited school children, also on a Christmas market tour. I actually cropped quite a bit off the bottom of this image - our shadows were about three times the framed length. Shot with my iPhone, converted to BW in Lightroom.

Very interesting capture I like it. That must be you at the right shadow. No help needed.

I like both images and they both work. The shadows add an extra interests I may crop the door on the lower left side..   Posted: 11/08/2023 08:16:00
Thank you, James.   Posted: 11/12/2023 15:04:31
The shadow makes this something so different. You have a good depth of field.   Posted: 11/08/2023 10:24:20

Lorna, I like how the texture in the old city hall really pops in the black and white version. The stone street leads the eye right into the archway. And, the shadows in the foreground are great as it adds to the story. Very nice. Makes me want to visit a European Christmas market!   Posted: 11/11/2023 18:31:23
Yes, it was very...Christmasy (LOL). We even had a bit of snow one day! One of the most fun parts was spending a frosty evening at an outside bar in the town square, drinking Gluhwein (basically, a warm mulled wine) and singing German Christmas songs with our friends and a crowd of other people.   Posted: 11/12/2023 15:04:00
