About the Image(s)
We were in California visiting my wife's brother and sister-in-law in August. While I was walking around, I found this set of trees that led to the tree on the end. I felt that the mono picture better showed the end trees and, I thought, that they were the important part of the picture.

I agree that monochrome was the way to go with this. Love the leading lnes that give real depth to the photo. You have good depth of field. It is a peaceful scene. I would like to see more tonal range, however. I took it into Camera Raw and increased the contrast significantly and played with the black slider.   Posted: 09/09/2023 14:39:41
I agree on having more contrast. Didn't think of it.   Posted: 09/09/2023 19:37:13
Paul, yes, the monochrome is the version that works best here, I think, and Cindy's suggestion about increased contrast would have been mine, as well. (I think her edit works). What I do really like about the image is way the strong leading lines of the trees take us into the frame and towards the bright patch of sky in the top centre. I think the vertical configuration works well.   Posted: 09/10/2023 22:59:03

I'll be darned - I didn't see the picnic table.   Posted: 09/19/2023 15:57:43
Paul, I like the composition of this image with the path leading through the trees. I agree that it needs more contrast to really bring it out. I didn't notice the picnic table, either!   Posted: 09/19/2023 18:07:39
