About the Image(s)
The color version was taken at an EAA (Experimental Aircraft Convention in Oshkosh some years ago. I simply converted it to mono.

Paul, I really like the propeller plan and in the clouds. This lends itself well to a monochrome version. I wondered what it would look like to give the clouds more definition so I took it into Siver Efex Pro and used the high structure smooth preset. I think it brings out the detail more in the plane and the sky. What do you think?   Posted: 06/14/2022 14:55:52
Looks good. I had not thought of that.   Posted: 06/14/2022 22:13:15
No one wants to publish the original color version in this group and I don't know why. The sky is too gray and needs to be darker with some contrast in the clouds. This image needs more interesting something. Only my humble opinion (smiling).   Posted: 06/14/2022 15:21:05
Good point Chuck. I will try to remember to do that and add a note to my monthly reminder for pictures.   Posted: 06/14/2022 22:17:08
I think that is a good suggestion and will submit my color versions from now on.   Posted: 06/16/2022 06:48:37
Paul, the detail on the plane looks sharp...more so, I think in Mary Ann's darker higher contrast version. Nice capture of the sunlight highlighting the edge of the wings and the tail. However, aside from the obvious movement of the propeller (phew!), the image seems a bit static (not sure what to suggest about that).

Nice capture and you have the propeller moving. I've learned from our camera club members who take these type of photos that propeller movement/blur is a must. You have good details on the plane. I would suggest lightening the plane and darkening the sky.   Posted: 06/16/2022 06:47:26
Might want to check Moose Peterson blog for shutter speeds for more prop blur. See other suggestions.   Posted: 06/28/2022 14:57:58
