About the Image(s)

Old boots have some mileage on them. Fujifilm XPro3, 35mm lens, ISO 1600, 1/125, f/4 hand held. Processed in Luminar NEO and AI. Original Film Simulation in the camera is Monochrome with a red filter. I love the Fujifilm Simulations. Sepia is from Luminar software. Appreciate your comments.

Chuck, I really like the old boots. You have captured the wear and texture of them and the sepia tone. My only suggestion would be to place them on a wooden step or floor or old wood planks to enhance the feeling of them. Very nice sharp image.   Posted: 05/10/2022 17:54:03

Nice image Chuck. I would consider cropping both sides to emphasize the boots. I don't have a problem with the carpeting but was surprised that the stair riser looks like different materials each side (cropping left side may help small section top step). Also darkening of the bottom riser would help removing the four angle lighter strips.

Thank's Karl I thought about cropping this to a square image and simply did not. It is not different materials these steps are open back, you are seeing the floor. I thought it was more interesting to leave it natural.   Posted: 05/11/2022 16:14:48

I like these old boots and the stories they could tell. You have nice details and texture. If you have a chance to reshoot them, I suggest tasking them at a lower angle rather than looking down on them and perhaps on a different surface. Great subject!   Posted: 05/12/2022 19:29:23

Chuck, I love this - the sepia tones, the light, the texture all work well, giving the image an antique, "film-capture" richness. I think it would be interesting to try others' suggestions - wood flooring, a lower shooting angle, a different crop, just to see what works for you. However, I like your post-processed image as it is.   Posted: 05/16/2022 14:22:24

The boots look ready to go somewhere. I like the angles of the stairs and boot tips pointing to the lower corner. The stairs provide dimension yet keep the shot simple.   Posted: 05/21/2022 12:50:00
