About the Image(s)

I took this picture alongside my house in the spring of some year...
I have two versions here - one that is a bit darker that shows the details of the lilies, the other brighter to stand out more, but doesn't have the detail the other one has. Comments?

Paul, I like the compositon and long vertical crop. I prefer the original with a higher contrast to really make the flowers stand out. I agree with you, that the details need to stand out more.   Posted: 10/11/2021 12:06:14

Paul, I also prefer the darker background in the original however, it does look like some of the detail is lost in the lighter areas. Perhaps a little selective detail extraction or texturing just on the flowers? A pleasing composition with the blossoms "cradled" by the foliage. I, too, like the vertical crop.   Posted: 10/11/2021 16:19:43

Hello Paul.;)I love how you captured the translucency of the lilies. They feel so gentle and light especially, I think, against the darker background. The photos give different interpretations and both are beautiful. I might get rid of the brighter leaf spot just to the bottom right of the cascade if using the darker background but that's a minor detail and personal opinion.   Posted: 10/15/2021 12:12:35

Paul, Beautiful images of the flowers. The vertical composition works well with the cascading flowers and lines of the leaves in the background. Personally, I like the darker image that really highlights the flowers.   Posted: 10/15/2021 17:42:25
