About the Image(s)

I shot these on my glass-top dining room table by the light of a desk lamp. I am not sure how I feel about the BW (sepia) version - I was going for texture, mainly - but decided to try the conversion because I wasn't that happy with how the tones came out in colour. Shot with 105 mm macro lens on my Nikon D750. Conversion with sepia preset in Lightroom, then increased the texture and clarity (just a bit), did some sharpening and luminance adjustment. Removed MANY dust spots (even though I cleaned the table thoroughly, I thought, before I took the photograph). 3 sec at f/22, ISO 100 (on tripod, of course).

Sepia works very well in my humble opinion. Agree, the texture is key. Suggest a higher ISO just for funzies. The light angle is just right. Make a print.

I love the textures and reflection in this image. The center and right tomatillos are sharp and in focus, but the one on the left is a little soft and I find that a little distracting. I also like the tones in the color version.   Posted: 09/06/2021 10:57:11

Yes, I totally agree about the focus - thanks, both of you.   Posted: 09/10/2021 15:24:09

I really like the sharpness and clarity of the image. The quality of the reflection is nice too. I like the black and white but do prefer the color version. The tonal variations are pleasing to me.   Posted: 09/15/2021 17:18:21
