Charles, I like the BW version of this image. Cropping - on the right and down from the top - eliminates some superfluous distractions and brings the shells into a little closer proximity. An interesting (and, IMHO, effective) creative choice to remove the motor craft in the foreground helps us focus more on the main event, the skull race. Even though I like the detail and texture in the bridge footing, I find it a bit overbearing. On the other hand, it provides a sense of scale and context.   Posted: 01/14/2025 04:34:59

You have an interesting event and a nice compositional number of 3. I think monochrome was the way to go here. For my taste, there is too much background and your main subjects are lost. I think zooming in to the racing shells and eliminating all the background distractions would make this a stronger image.   Posted: 01/17/2025 02:16:10
