WHITE THROATED SPARROW by Mary Walsh

May 2023 - WHITE THROATED SPARROW

About the Image(s)

was taken at the John Heinz Wildlife preserve while on a photoshoot with my camera club. It has been a very rainy weekend, which meant that there wasn’t sun glare, but it was also fairly low light.
Nikon Z7II, 500mm, 1/640 sec, ISO 1800, F 5.6

Mary, gorgeous , gorgeous tack sharp sparrow! I did get rid of the branches that I felt were distracting and took away from the image. Back ground is perfect!   Posted: 05/01/2023 13:36:35

This is spectacular, Mary
You caught a lovely moment with this bird in expert fashion. I like the idea of taking out the background branch running behind the bird and like the other branches because these birds like to be in shrubby environments.   Posted: 05/02/2023 12:29:29

Mary, the sharpness of the subject is excellent. I like the composition a lot. It appears the subject turned to look back at you. I like the background. The rainy weather worked to your advantage. Terrific shot!!   Posted: 05/05/2023 08:39:15

Beautifully done. I, too, removed the branches; and, I added a touch of vibrance to the bird   Posted: 05/05/2023 11:44:13

I have been adding a touch of vibrance to almost everything as a last step and it often seems to make a difference. Good luck.   Posted: 05/05/2023 13:50:49

Good work, pin point focus and nice bokeh. The over the shoulder pose adds to the overall effect.   Posted: 05/17/2023 10:44:20

Stunning bird image. I sort of like the branches left in though I can see that they might be distracting. Seems to be a little more natural to me though. Great capture.   Posted: 05/27/2023 16:10:50

Thanks Marti. I had debated about the branches for that same reason.   Posted: 05/27/2023 21:33:04
