LOOK BEHIND YOU by Mary Walsh

About the Image(s)

I was at Flamingo Gardens with my sister and she was taking pictures of the flamingos. Suddenly an ibis jumped up on the railing behind her. She was so intent, she never noticed it. The scene struck me as funny, so I snapped a picture. I cropped the picture slightly and darkened the background to make it less distracting. Nikon Z7II ISO 100, 175MM, F11, 1/160 Sec.

I like your sense of humor. I often wonder what I am not seeing when I am out shooting. I like the way you darkened the background to make the subject standout.   Posted: 06/05/2022 13:02:29

Mary, great story telling image. Nice positioning with room in front of your sister. Ibis eye is sharp which is critical. Never been to Flamingo Gardens. Been to Butterfly World and Miami Zoo. Lot of photography? Very nice fun image.   Posted: 06/05/2022 18:20:32

Tom, yes there's a lot to see at Flamingo Gardens. We could have used more time. Would like to go there in the winter because it was too hot as we got closer to midday. My favorite photography spot in Florida so far is the Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park. Lots of birds and gators.   Posted: 06/05/2022 18:27:11

Royal Palm is also amazing, you enter the Glades south by Coe Visitor Center in Everglades City and then further east is Big Cypress Bend, a 3000 boardwalk is just amazing. Don't you just love photography! It sure keeps us going.   Posted: 06/06/2022 06:44:13

Great shot. Love Tom's comments. I just purchased a pass to the Palm Beach Zoo in the hopes that I'll be encouraged to get there more often so I don't waste the money. As I can bring a guest free if anyone would like to join me when the weather cools down, just email or call and it's a date   Posted: 06/14/2022 22:29:26
