About the Image(s)

Took this at the S. Florida Fair. On the way out we came across an exhibit of artificial flowers and there was where I got my best images. Took the original into photoshop. Cropped it; made some basic Photoshop adjustments; took it into Topaz Studio 2 and did some more adjustments. Opened up a texture and followed Marie Altenburg's instructions for working with textures. Completed the project with adding a stroke and signature.

Bev, this is a great shot. The colors are lovely together. I really like your editing, especially the softened background. I would have liked the whole branch of leaves that lead into the flower to be left in sharp focus rather than blended into the background. To me it seems like doing that would create a leading line toward the flowers.   Posted: 06/02/2021 18:01:06

Thanks I can certainly enhance the branch and will try it tomorrow. Too tired tonight.   Posted: 06/02/2021 20:56:20

Having a problem with Photoshop for a change, but I was able to enhance the leaves and sharpen them a bit. What do you think?   Posted: 06/14/2021 19:58:24

You did a great job editing and composing the image. I, also agree with Mary's comment about the branch.   Posted: 06/03/2021 11:42:18

I loved this image the first time I saw it and still do, even without the subsequent changes.   Posted: 06/14/2021 21:06:25

I love the soft background Bev and agree as well about the rest of the leaves being in focus. I have never used Topaz but have heard lots of people talk about it with respect to sharpening. Interesting to hear that it also helps you work with textures. Does it have scope for doing more compared with Photoshop?   Posted: 06/15/2021 03:01:38

Topaz has many different filters all with the object of improving your images. Take a look at their website and if you decide you want to purchase one, I would suggest focusing on Studio 2 for a starter. If you want one I'll send you a discount code. Just let me know.   Posted: 06/15/2021 06:33:09

I love your photo Bev. I also like the soft background. I had to play with it though...hope you don't mind. I cropped your original and added a grain texture. That way it takes having it perfectly focused away. Interesting look. What do you think? Don't change yours though!!!!   Posted: 06/15/2021 12:10:42

Very interesting take. I do not mind at all that you played with it. I wish more group members in all the groups would do that. I have mixed thoughts about the grain but love how it jumps out. Looks like you enhanced the colors even more. Thanks.   Posted: 06/15/2021 15:32:51
