About the Image(s)

In the spirit of Ed’s cantina story, here is ”Forsaken”. This is an abandoned tile factory that I pass often on my shopping rounds. Every time I feel touched by the atmosphere of integrity and pride that the handsome erect building seems to carry, although it is long ago that the factory gave it up, and even the graffiti crowd has gone. I think that it will stand tall and proud when the demolishers come, and meet its fate with dignity. XT-2, F 15 mm, f/16, 1/250 s, ISO 640. Aperture priority. Auto exposure and focus. Handheld.

This is a good start. Technically it is very well done. I feel there is too much sky and too much foreground. The graffiti. I feel , should be more resent. The disrespect to this building adds drama and picks up the sadness that you seem to have seeing this abandoned building.   Posted: 09/13/2021 12:25:32

Thanks Al! You are absolutely right about the crop, and I will work on the graffiti!   Posted: 09/14/2021 13:17:50

Kristi, It is a wonderful building. The windows are beautifully balanced and I like the triangle at the top matching the one below. I don't mind the graffiti too much. In fact, I am impressed they could write their names so high! The moody sky adds to the poignancy of your image.   Posted: 09/16/2021 18:08:09
