About the Image(s)

Here is ”Ghost Tango”. This is a composite of an image taken through the window of a local dance hall and an old blurred snapshot from a tango performance in Buenos Aires. The hall has been closed and deserted through the lockdown, and only ghosts come there to dance in the moonlight. Hope that you can see them!?
The dance hall image was taken on a bright sunny afternoon, with light flooding in from the side windows. Fuji XT-2, zoom 10-24mm, F24 mm, AE, f/8, 1/140 s, ISO 200, exposure compensation -1.7. The dancers were in a dark hall with stage lights, Canon Powershot G10, F 30.5 mm, f/4.5, 1 s. ISO 200. Developed in Capture One 2 and processed in Affinity Photo. The tint I found in Color Efex Pro 4 under the Colorize filter.

I really enjoy your creative mind's eye. The concept is good, but I think there is too much clutter. The windows, tables and chairs, and the ceiling lights, I think are distracting. Your original shot of the dancers, I think is really good, but the shadows could be lightened. Try combining the dancers with another scene   Posted: 06/14/2021 15:12:32

Thanks, Albert! Yes, I can see that now. I think that the left-side windows are the most distractive element? I cloned them white and added a vignette with some inner light to soften the rest of the clutter but still showing the dance hall context. Do you think that this helped at all? - I will start to look for a more worthy venue for the dancers.   Posted: 06/15/2021 15:01:02

Yes better, but it doesn't add anything to the original.   Posted: 06/15/2021 21:18:25

You have a great imagination. I can see the imaginary dancers in the deserted hall. I really like how you combined the images. It gives me ideas to combine images! Thank you!   Posted: 06/14/2021 17:39:33

Thanks, Colin! I will go back to the originals and try to see if a different crop of the background might open any options!   Posted: 06/16/2021 07:40:56
