Description: Finally, I got out of the house and drove to Park City, Utah to take photos of the fall colors. I had purchased a new KIA Telluride and wanted break it in. Also had a new Camera and lens and really wanted test them out.

Spent five days in Park City taking photos of the fall colors. I hadn’t been there in the fall and found out the colors were the best in 30 years, at least that’s what the locals said. I traveled all the back roads in the local area. There were lots of people taking photos of the fall colors, but I decided after 5 days I had enough. Besides the roads were getting full of cars and people, and I figured that the weekend would be terrible with vehicles stacked back to back, so I packed up and headed for Lee Vining, California. Two days later I arrived at Lee Vining to find, to my surprise, the smoke from the fires in California was so bad you couldn’t see the mountains, much less the trees and the fall colors. I checked the weather and the smoke was almost all the way to my house in southern California, but the air at my place was clear, so I headed home.

I processed the photos in Photomatix Pro 6.1.2, Balanced. Made some adjustments and I then moved the photo to Photoshop and adjusted the sky and made several small adjustments.

Richard, you probably have no idea how lucky you are. I haven't seen fall colors in 20 years. Really miss it! Retired in the north east and moved to Florida. Don't miss the COLD though. Gorgeous coloring of the leaves and that cloud drifting through the mountains is magic. Are they birch trees? Very well done Richard.   Posted: 11/09/2021 19:30:42

very nice, I like the way color of the trees supports the low hills and clouds then the mountains and the sky. Sounds like quite a road trip.   Posted: 11/11/2021 04:23:34
