About the Image(s)

Cuyahoga Falls, was shot on 10/12/21. In Cuyahoga Natl Park, Ohio. This is a small area of a larger waterfall. I was intrigued by the small streams of water surrounding the larger area in the middle of the photograph. To get to this area, I had to walk a trail to the stone steps going down and along the side of a deep gorge. And down again to the bottom of the gorge. Carrying tripod and all my gear ( Google, Chestvest). Shooting as I went along in selected spots. We were their for two days photographing waterfalls and some scenic overlooks of the valley.
Nikon D750 ISO 110, nikon 70-300 mm lens, f 11 @ 1/30 sec (+/-5). processed in Photomatix 6.3, cropping contrast and other minor adjustment in PS 5.

Ron, what process did you use in Photomatix? I like part of this photo, but your of 1/30 (+/-5 seems to be a bit long, causing the water to mix to much with the result that is somewhat confusing where it mixes. I would suggest a time, such as 1/4 to get the flow to show without mudding the water. Just a thought.   Posted: 11/07/2021 17:29:04

Ron, I like the image showing the turbulent stream. I love the right hand third of this image and the way you brought the colorful red and orange leaves into play. Nicely done.   Posted: 11/08/2021 20:15:15

I did shoot multiple isolated images of sections of this and other waterfalls, I like the crop you did.   Posted: 11/10/2021 08:42:35

Ron, it looks like there are several different possible shots in this scene. Tom's suggestion certainly simplifies the scene, also another possible crop is to focus in on the central part of the waterfall. I would try to avoid the slightly blurred green branches that pop into the scene at top right and bottom center (I guess these moved a bit in the wind during the exposures).   Posted: 11/09/2021 10:04:02

This is one of many HDR's shot of this area. This waterfall was not very high but a least thirty to fifty yards wide, with lots of interesting scenes. There is another one from that day in group 55.   Posted: 11/10/2021 08:47:09
