Description: Sunrise at the Joshua Tree National Park in California

My brother and I went to Joshua Tree National Park to photograph the Joshua Trees that were in full bloom. This morning we got up early to take some photos of the sunrise. I liked the way the boulders in front pointed toward the sunrise on the mountains and the valley, many miles away.

I processed the photos in Photomatix Pro 6.1.2, Balanced. Made some adjustments and I then moved the photo to Photoshop and adjusted the sky and made several small adjustments.

Well done, Richard. The HDR treatment brought out all the tones and textures in the foreground and midground rocks, while retaining the sky color. I would lighten the dark area at bottom center a little bit, it seems a little lighter in image 2 than in the final product.   Posted: 07/20/2021 09:24:47

I really like the way you kept the fore ground in focus, leading the eye into the sunset. The HDR processing was a very good choice it handled the highlights well.   Posted: 07/24/2021 14:41:54
