About the Image(s)

In fall 2019 before the pandemic, while visiting family members on the West Coast, I stopped by the shore of an inlet in Parksville, on Vancouver Island, BC. Looking toward the sun, this scene caught my eye and with a large range of brightness, was a perfect target for HDR. I shot the usual 3 brackets and tone mapped them in Aurora HDR 2019, using the Natural preset. Back in Lightroom, I enhanced the tone of the green foliage slightly and then cropped the image slightly, leveling the horizon in the process. All comments welcome.

Don, you were right, a good target for HDR. I would crop the wooden item in the lower left corner and perhaps a little of the tree on the left. Your composition of the HDR is done very nicely. Especially the trees across the water.   Posted: 06/08/2021 23:19:00

Thanks, Richard. Rather than cropping the wooden fence piece, I decided to try Photoshop's content-aware fill. This worked really well. I also cropped a small amount of the tree and a bit off the bottom.   Posted: 06/09/2021 10:25:31
