About the Image(s)

This American Bald Eagle is a permanet resident at the The Avian Conservation Center in Awendaw, SC, and is a big part of the Center’s educational program. Some years ago he was rescued after landing on live electrical lines which caused permenant nerve damage in his legs. He was outfitted with a brace or supports which help keep him from falling when trying to land. Even though he struggles to balance, he is able to stand upright with a little help.

Nikon D7000; Lens 55.0-200.0; Focal Length 62.0 m; Exposure 1/8000 sec; f/4.2; ISO 100; Shutter priority; Pattern metering

Edited in Adobe Camera Raw: basic sliders. PS: dodge/ burn, sharp and clone tools then cropped. Changed the background using sliders in camera raw.

Hi Sylvia, this is a fantastic capture of the Bald Eagle in action. It really tells a story of endurance and recovery, highlighting the important work of conservation centers for injured birds.
Your editing enhances the image by removing much of the color from the scene, allowing the Bald Eagle to stand out even more majestically.

Hi Sylvia, A beautiful image, very powerful! Interesting editing! In my opinion, If you want to keep it as a "document" image, it would be better to make the whole image a black-and-white image. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 01/20/2025 15:53:22
