Sapporo TV Tower by Bai Chuang Shyu

May 2023 - Sapporo TV Tower

About the Image(s)

The Sapporo TV Tower built in 1957, is a 47.2-metre-high (155 ft) TV tower with an observation deck at a height of 28 metres. Located on the ground of Odori Park, in the northern city of Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, the tower is open to tourists. Tourists can view Sapporo and Odori Park. It takes about 60 seconds to take the elevator from the third floor to the observatory with a height of 90.38 meters. From the observatory, I can not only clearly see the scenery of Odori Park but I can also catch a glimpse of various exciting events.
My Nikon D810 was on Tripod with f/4, 5 seconds and IS 40. The post processing was done in Viviza3 and cropped in PhotoShop.

Another wonderful night shot! I like the way the trees in the foreground and the clouds and full moon in the background add depth to the image. But, I wonder if the left, 1/3rd side of the image is really necessary. All the action is in the right 2/3rds side.   Posted: 05/05/2023 18:01:46

Beautiful lighting and the moon completes this image. I also like the branches coming in on the right. I think you could crop in from the left to eoliminate the white windows. This is a really nice image.   Posted: 05/06/2023 09:33:54

Nice nighttime shot! I really like the clouds that surround the tower. The moon and moon glow give the sky a special interest. I don't like the trees coming in from the bottom but I think you need to keep the triangular shape of the building in the lower third. I agree that the white windows could be cropped off.   Posted: 05/09/2023 11:04:27

especially like the tree, even if it encroach into the tower, the cloud, the moon. Though, I wish the moon is a bit away from the tower, balance a little of the elements in the frame.
Overall, nice framed, night scene.   Posted: 05/14/2023 08:30:47

I like the triangles, the clouds and the moon and the colours are attractive but as a complete image, it doesn't really work for me. I would prefer to see the tower more central and unlike other members, I think the tree on the right spoils and unbalances the image. I think that there is great potential here for a strong architectural shot but it needs to concentrate solely on the tower.   Posted: 05/15/2023 16:29:40
