MayApple & Virgina bluebell by Charlie Yang

June 2022 - MayApple & Virgina bluebell

About the Image(s)

This is taken early morning, at a forest preserve, known for woodland flora, at this time bluebell is peaking and perhaps bit past peak, and mayapple is coming up strong,
I was wondering around, and finally settle on this view, like the pattern, and mount on tripod, and hoping for the morning sun will light up some of the pattern.
Well, the sun burst and the light didn't happen, however, I like the pattern, so here is

D850, Sigma 14-24mm @22mm, f/16, 1/30, ISO 4000, on Tripod,

Post Proc: normal adjustment, topaz deNoise AI, PS curve,

I like the rich blues and greens in this image. And, the image appears to be sharp from the foreground to the background. The bluebells in the foreground lead your eye to the back of the image. It might help to crop out the bright gray sky at the very top of the image as it doesn't really add anything...perhaps just above the flower-horizon line keeping in some of the forest in the background.   Posted: 06/05/2022 07:37:40

good point, was originally framed for the sun-burst if showed, but it didn't happen. thanks   Posted: 06/05/2022 16:07:39

Love the composition with the wide angle lens view from the blue-bells in the foreground all the way to the trees in the background. I don't mind the sky at the top of the image. Nice exposure with beautiful green leaves and blue flowers! Awesome!   Posted: 06/11/2022 23:51:56

For me, the image is on the left side where the bluebells are and without the sky. I think that is a much stronger image. It makes it simple, nicely in focus from front to back and takes away the distraction of the sky and the rather uninteresting section on the right where there are no bluebells.   Posted: 06/12/2022 16:42:11

I like this image very much and don't mind the sky, however, I would use the sky as a source of warm light by warming up the image and bringing a lightness to the center of the photo as if it were coming from the morning light in the sky.   Posted: 06/15/2022 06:42:14

This scene is the green leaves, the blue flowers, and the tree trunk on the left. I'd crop out the messy trees in the background. What do they add?   Posted: 06/22/2022 22:11:53
