This is an interesting variety of tulips that I have not seen. They look like orange flames shooting from the ground. I don't quite understand the connection between the tulips and the stone masonry, if there is one. But, it is a simple and pleasant image.   Posted: 11/04/2021 17:51:08

No real connection between the flowers and masonry other than being juxtaposed in the garden of a colonial-era mansion in Albany, NY. The masonry is a remnant of the original NY state capitol building that was demolished in the 1800s. I like the contrast between new flowers and old masonry.   Posted: 11/16/2021 14:16:01

Beautiful flowers and a sharp, well focused shot. For me, the masoary competes with the flowers.   Posted: 11/15/2021 21:01:47

I feel that the flowers and masonry complement each other.   Posted: 11/16/2021 14:04:05

lovely tulips, bright and colorful. I have viewed this on different occasions and wonder if the background rough textual stone and delicate bright flowers, seems so rich of contrast and opposite, a lot of drama, but not sure where it leads to...

I didn't intend it to lead anywhere other than being eye-catching!!   Posted: 11/23/2021 16:37:01

It is a nice combination of tulips and masonry. I just feel if the tulips are the main focus and subjects then the background masonry perhaps could be blurred a little bit.   Posted: 11/23/2021 07:38:38

Adding another comment, I had a 16x20 print of this image put on canvas, framed it, and submitted it to a silent, fund-raising auction in support of the Historic Albany Foundation. It sold.   Posted: 11/23/2021 16:43:46
