About the Image(s)

In celebration of Halloween this year, a bunch of photographers and models got together for some studio fun. This model was dressed as Freddy Krueger from the movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street. In Photoshop, I replaced the background with a shot of trees because the old-castle-in-a-forest backdrop just didn't look right. I also adjusted the model's skin tone and skull's color to a ghoulish pale white, and I used a Horror Blue LUT (Look Up Table) to give the trees a midnight-blue cast. It's interesting that the model's red hair is her real hair - dyed, of course, but not a wig! I'm not planning to enter this image in a photo competition, but it was fun shooting and post processing the image.

Not a picture I want to have hanging on my wall but I suspect it states what you intended! As far as edit is concerned, I would just suggest lightening the image, but maybe the darker tone is appropriate.   Posted: 11/13/2021 16:11:19

I was just having some portrait fun with this image. I wouldn't put it on my wall either! But, the model appreciated it, posted it on her Instagram and got plenty of comments. I'll go back to serious photography next month...I promise.   Posted: 11/13/2021 17:01:50

This is a fun photo and so appropriate for the season. You handled it well. My only suggestion would be to warm up the green backgound some. You did a nice job of adding the background.   Posted: 11/15/2021 21:00:22

Thank you, Cindy. It was indeed intended to be just that...a fun photo, nothing more. Maybe not appropriate for this forum.   Posted: 11/16/2021 07:03:36

Did not see it coming, totally out of left field! However, it's timely for the season, very playful. nice.
I won't change a thing, perhaps, just a suggestion, to darken the bright white spot/area, just a bit distracting....   Posted: 11/16/2021 19:12:34

Thank you, Charlie. Which bright spot? Do you mean where her sweater is torn exposing part of her left breast? That's supposed to be part of the costume effect.   Posted: 11/17/2021 04:46:46

It is a very interesting portrait with indulging facial expression. I like the post processing of the background which is appropriate for the atmosphere.   Posted: 11/23/2021 07:38:10

Thank you, Bai. This image was more of a post-processing challenge than anything else.   Posted: 11/23/2021 08:12:58
