About the Image(s)

This photo was taken in the Appalachian Mountain of North Carolina, specifically Looking Glass Rock which is on
the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway runs from Shenandoah in Northern Virginia through central-western highlands of North Carolina. There are some spectacular views and in Autumn it really is gorgeous. Below this rock is a waterfall but you cannot see it from this vantage point.

Camera: Nikon D700, Lens Nikkor 12-24, tripod

You captured a beautiful sunrise or sunset scene on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The upper part of the image pops with the strong shadows against the sunlit mountains. I like how you brought out the details using the de-haze filter. I'm not sure I like the effect on the foreground though. It makes the fauna look unnatural. Perhaps, you might want to try selecting the foreground and backing off the de-haze filter some.   Posted: 11/01/2021 15:48:25

Color is attractive, lines are interesting, just not sure about the light, seems un-natured where it's light and dark. Perhaps back up a little where's enhanced. I mean look for harmony in the whole scene.   Posted: 11/04/2021 15:09:16

You have nice contrasting colors and increasing the contrast in your post processessing added depth. I wonder if you have another horizontal shot to make this a landscape rather than portrait presentation. For my taste, it seems a little crammed into the space rather than the vastness I feel.   Posted: 11/15/2021 21:24:43

A very beautiful landscape image given a very nice perspective. The texture and colors of foreground trees and bushes give a sense of autumn. I like the background mountain and hills faded away with gradient of light.   Posted: 11/23/2021 07:39:21

I like the layering and the strong foreground.   Posted: 11/23/2021 16:48:02
