About the Image(s)

This is an old, closed penitentiary that is opened for visitors. I liked this particular view showing several light sources and I love old things and places. After straightening the image and skew, I used tonal contrast and opened the shadows some, as well as enhanced the details. Settings: f/8, 1/100 seconds, ISO 500 and 28 mm focal length.

I know you're a big fan of old grunge, and this image definitely has a lot of it. Beautiful texture throughout. And, the light and shadows add to the effect. Usually, leading lines take you to a point of interest, but, in this case, the interest is in the details found in the journey to the end of the corridor. Although I like your final image, I also like the original image as well (with the perspective correction applied)...maybe even a bit more because it is so natural.   Posted: 11/01/2021 15:55:52

You worked this scene well. If these walls could speak. I wonder if the former "residents" would appreciate your treatment of their former abode.   Posted: 11/04/2021 11:19:26

would darken the red so that it's not stand out, and seems artificially boosted. In the original, that red look right at home with the image, like it belong there. Just my two cents!   Posted: 11/04/2021 15:13:37

The hallway gives very nice perspective. You turn the ordinary mottled ceiling and fences into fantastic pattern of colors and shadows.   Posted: 11/23/2021 07:37:40
