About the Image(s)

Photographed at the Storm King Art Center in the Hudson Valley of
upstate New York. This is an outdoor sculpture venue containing over
100 large-scale sculptures spread out over more than 500 acres.
Photographed with a Nikon D7100 and converted to monochrome in Picasa.
The interplay between the sculpture and the human being attracted me.

I really like this image. It is so surreal and makes me think, "What is that huge sculpture doing in the middle of this open field?" The woman walking away from it adds scale and a human touch. The conversion to B&W is perfect. If I were to make any suggestions, it might be to crop out some of the right side of the image...maybe up to the start of the clouds. To me, the story is all about everything to the left of the sculpture.   Posted: 09/01/2021 13:27:22

I like this image very much. I like the simplicity and negative space which gives it a feeling of vastness and aloneness. This tells a story. I agree with David's suggestion to crop the right side to the edge of the cloud. That way your subjects won't be so centered. I did notice a few dust sensor spots in the sky that can easily be removed with the spot healing brush.   Posted: 09/02/2021 09:05:15

This is a good example of how to photograph large, outdoor, abstract subjects. Adding the person is perfect and good use of negative space. Well done!   Posted: 09/10/2021 09:51:01
