You did a wonderful job f capturing this butterfly and keeping it so sharp when you cropped in. I always look to see if the legs and antennae are sharp in butterfly photo and you have nice, sharp ones. Love the burred background and colors. Nice job!   Posted: 07/08/2021 20:55:01

Most of the sharpness credit goes to my Canon 100-400 lens. When I put the spot on the subject and hold still, the subject is SHARP.   Posted: 07/09/2021 11:56:15

I like the final composition after cropping the original image, and the blurred background is quite pleasing. You also seemed to have eliminated any noise at ISO 2500. The butterfly looks like a soldier butterfly to me - similar to a monarch which I just shot yesterday and might submit for my August image. Overall, a very nice image.   Posted: 07/09/2021 16:16:26

My butterfly book indicates this butterfly is a Tropic Queen. I never have problems with noise because of the Canon software for RAW shooting. Final noise elimination takes place when I put luminance at 100%. I look forward to seeing your butterfly photo.   Posted: 07/09/2021 17:00:12

The "tropic queen" butterfly is also called a "soldier" butterfly. They are the same. However, they are different from the "queen" butterfly.   Posted: 07/09/2021 17:21:18

It is a very nice catch of the butterfly and flower. I like the very detailed and sharp image of the butterfly and processed blurred background.   Posted: 07/30/2021 07:37:54
