About the Image(s)

I love old, rusty things and the Old St. Joseph Lead Mine in Bonne Terre, MO filled the bill. We had limited access to the buildings in this Missouri Mines State historical site, but were able to take quite a few photos on this cloudy day. The first thing I did was straighten and crop the image and then adjust the exposure, clarity, details, and color in Camera Raw and Nik Color Efex. Settings: f/11, 1/100 sec., ISO 450 and 50 mm focal length.

While the rest of us are shooting pretty flowers, Cindy is shooting grunge! :-) I am also a fan of rust and decay, and this image has it all. The blue and orange tones provide nice complementary colors. I like your cropping such that the diagonal line runs through the corner. If I were to make any suggestions, it might be to crop a little more off the right and top. It will put more emphasis on the windows.   Posted: 07/01/2021 12:28:25

Great image and yes, I agree 100% with David's crop. Well done.   Posted: 07/07/2021 09:18:56

A photo that catches my eye immediately upon seeing it. Lines, lines, lines and color adds to the pleasure. The single diagonal is a great addition to the other vertical and horizonal lines.   Posted: 07/09/2021 18:19:29

Thanks, Don. I've been staring at this for a while and decided to give it a try.   Posted: 07/17/2021 09:58:46

I like the color, texture, lines, shapes and composition of the image. I can see through the broken window and found another window! I browse around and find the lamp in the right catch my attention.   Posted: 07/30/2021 07:35:55
