About the Image(s)

I set this up with a window to the right side and used natural light. In post processing, I used Camera Raw for clarity and some highlight reduction and Nik Color Efex for Tonal Contrast and Darken/Lighten Center. I also adjusted the blacks in Curves. I've been trying to be aware of allowing a little more space around my subjects. Settings: f/5.6, 1/2 sec., ISO 100, 38 mm focal length, with a tripod

Another beautiful still life! Simple, yet elegant. A well-thought-out composition with the carrots enveloping the onion and tomato; especially with part of the leaves falling off the table and the dark vignette keeping one's interest on the objects. Putting the white onion in the center draws one attention to the middle of the image, and using a yellow onion wouldn't have been as effective both color-wise and compositionally. The curved front of the table also frames the composition nicely. And, the glass surface adds an interesting reflection. Well done!   Posted: 06/01/2021 07:03:25

Thank you, David. I took my inspiration from your radish photo!   Posted: 06/01/2021 07:48:54

This is beautiful. Congratulations. It is personal to me because these are the very vegetables that my wife and I use most often in our Mediterranean cooking: onions first in olive oil, then the tomato, and sometimes carrots later. Did you choose these vegetables for their cooking compatibility? Perhaps you can add a bottle of olive oil to one of your lovely photos?   Posted: 06/04/2021 20:35:32

Thank you, Stephen, and I did pick them out because they could be used together in the real world. I'll have to put a small bottle of Olive Oil in my next pic. Thanks for the suggestion!   Posted: 06/11/2021 14:32:33
