About the Image(s)
Because of the cold winter we've been having, I've been shooting a lot more inside my house. For this shot, a single diffused LED light in a softbox was used. Black flags were also used to get a thin rim lighting effect around the edges of the glass. In post processing, Photoshop was used to clone out the smudges on the glass and bring out the rim lighting. I was trying to create an image for an upcoming Negative Space competition. Shot with a full-frame camera with a 100mm macro lens on a tripod.

exquisite! image, and composition. lovely!
I have never used a "black flag" so to speak, got to try it.
Now, as for that a sliver of red inside the glass, wonder how's that?

Thanks, Charlie. It was all trial and error in placing the light and flags. I'm not sure I can even explain it.   Posted: 03/12/2025 12:18:57
A great piece of imagination and you have been rewarded for your persistence. The post processing has made it a very clear and attractive final image. It deserves to do well in the competition, let us know how it gets on.   Posted: 03/21/2025 18:59:19
