About the Image(s)
The Giants' Causeway is a rock formation in Northern Ireland that we visited recently.. It is a huge tourist attraction and we were there on a busy day. I was trying to get a shot of the formations without too many people and decided to crop my best image and convert it to black and white with one person in it to emphasize the formations and contrast in the colours and give some perspective. Taken at 1/250 sec, f8, ISO200.

This is such an unusual landscape. It looks man-made. Photographically, I like your cropped composition and your decision to convert the image to black and white. The dark rocks create an S-curve flowing between the white rocks. The man definitely adds scale. I wonder if you could brighten his jacket so that he stands out more from the dark rocks?   Posted: 10/06/2024 23:35:53

Monochrome really brings out the details and contrast in this scene. I agree with David that the man gives it scale but I would like to be able to see him better by lightening his jacket.   Posted: 10/11/2024 15:46:01

Interesting conversion to a monochrome, much more interesting than the color one.   Posted: 10/13/2024 15:49:36

I have been to Giants Causeway. You've done a good job to convert to monochrome and include the man to show scale. I agree that the jacket should be lightened to make him stand out more. Interesting how the formations have made a tone difference across the photo from top right to bottom left. Nice!   Posted: 10/25/2024 20:55:05
