About the Image(s)

This is from Sept. 2019. Exposures are minus 1, 0, plus 1, plus 2. Nikon D800e, Sigma 24-105. Blended in Aurora 2018, adjusted in PS 2021. Had to push in a lot of yellow to warm it up.

This was Cle Elum, WA's first City Cemetery. Around 1930 the City tried to move all the bodies to a new location. Didn't work. This place isn't maintained by the City anymore, but private volunteers come around every couple of years and clean it up. One of the graves still here is for a Union Army Civil War Veteran and his family. Somehow, he outlived both wife and son.

The blend and tones look good. It has a lonely feel to it. The grave is isolated from the stones we can see, though there may be some ground markers we can't see nearby. Given the size of the tree, it may not have been there when he was buried.   Posted: 09/08/2021 18:43:16

Definitely looks lonely.. blend looks good.
The tree kind of divides the scene in half which makes it a little static.   Posted: 09/15/2021 12:51:12

It appears the volunteers who keep up the appearance of this cemetery did well. The feeling does have a warm feeling and a place of peace. The tree does separate the image some. Maybe (not knowing what would show on the left side), an angle taken more from the right with the fenced-in metal grave showing the graves on the left might help the composition. Regardless, this is a pleasant image.   Posted: 09/22/2021 15:47:26
