About the Image(s)

This month’s image is based on a bracket made during the Pittsburgh Conference. We are looking down into the lobby of what was once one of the upper crust banks from one of the higher floors. The bracket was five shots with two above and two below the base exposure of .2 sec at F11, iso 400 using a Canon 1DX MK II and 16-35 F 4 lens at 16mm. I wasn’t able to lean out far enough to get proper centering and that body doesn’t have a fold out back screen so I had to still be able to see the back on live view as I framed it. I have corrected the distortion to the extent that I felt was reasonable, knowing that it isn’t perfect. The blend was done in Adobe Camera Raw more because I suspected I might run into some of the chromatic aberration issues that I have found Aurora doesn’t seem to deal with as well as I might like. Contrast was tweaked in the Midtones by using the Shadow Highlight adjustment with no amount on either Shadows or Highlights but the Midtone contrast boosted to +16.

Nice perspective. It looks like you nailed the exposure and color. I'm not bothered by the composition.   Posted: 05/10/2021 10:51:24
