About the Image(s)

On April 21, 2021, I was in a workshop in Tennessee and was riding in the mountains and saw this beautiful image. A Nikon D800, at 38mm on a tripod close to the ground was used, at 1/30 sec, 5.6f, and ISO 100. The foreground is soft and the small barn as my subject is sharp. I added more yellow flowers and darkened them a little. I put a red roof on the barn. I whiten the dogwoods a little. In the background, the trees I added more red leaves. I replaced the sky. I used a radial tool in camera raw to bring out the brilliant colors on the trees in the background. The springs colors look a lot like the fall colors.

How can I improve this image. Thanks.

I really like your image Linda and, as always, you have done an excellent job of coaxing out the detail and color. The subject is great and the compositional elements all work well together. Good idea on making the roof a subtle shade of red. I think it gives the eye a place to rest.
I feel the tree and barn are two anchoring elements in your image and since I seem to like symmetry I suggest a crop that places them on either side of the image to balance each other out. I have also brightened the shot just a touch. I did clone some of the out of focus flowers because I felt they were a bit of a distraction since I kept looking at them instead of the barn and tree.
It does change the feel of the image somewhat, but what do you think about these adjustments?

Good job, Linda, you have shot a very beautiful image. The eye catching object appears to be the small house. Therefore, I would suggest putting it in one of the places of "rule of third" and also to ighten it slightly.   Posted: 10/14/2021 07:37:50
