About the Image(s)

This was shot near Cary North Carolina. I like lilly pads and the way this pond was laid out appealed to me. I used photoshop to clone and add to the side of the photo which I had cut off in shooting. I also used DRY BRUSH to give a Monet type look.
Shot with Canon 6D, Tamron 28-300 lens at 70 mm. ISO was 200 and it was shot at 1/1000 /sec. f 7.1

I like the treament you gave this image. It does look like a Monet. Very colorful and beautiful.   Posted: 09/06/2021 11:59:39

Beautiful image. I really like the original image better and I would not change a thing on the original.   Posted: 09/07/2021 21:02:31

Maybe I am lazy and I appreciate your comments but I have many Lilly Pad photos that are at least as good. This one however I framed wrong, and I like impressionism, so I felt the easies way to fix this was to clone in the rest of the Lilly Pad and use the preset. Thanks for your input though.   Posted: 09/11/2021 18:06:32

Well Harley when you start with a great image you can do lots to enhance it. I like the impressionistic effect giving it an artistic look. There is much harmony in the colors and you did a good job enlarging the one lily pad.
I do agree with Linda that the original is a winner also.   Posted: 09/11/2021 08:09:39

This is quite good! Move over Monet. Very very restfull! Very good composition. No doubt what the subject is! What is dry brush?   Posted: 09/11/2021 17:45:30

Thank You. The Dry Brush is a preset in Photoshop CS6. When I can get the components for a reasonable price to build a new Computer that will work with Windows 11 and CC I will sign on to Photoshop CC. Not Sure if the presets are similar.   Posted: 09/11/2021 18:09:49

I was about to say I like both for different reasons and started reading the comments and can't add anything different. Very nice images.   Posted: 09/11/2021 18:46:00

I'm personally not a fan of overly "painterly" like photos. I feel that it takes away from the actual photographic essence of it. However, I can appreciate that others like it, and like to use it.   Posted: 09/15/2021 12:10:06

Got it, it is a gimmick that I did not paint. I can see it.   Posted: 09/15/2021 19:10:20
