About the Image(s)
I was watching these Kite Boarders and got as close as I could. Shot my R7 at 1/2000 sec, f9, ISO 800, Canon 100-400 lens at 400mm. I put it through Topaz Photo AI then in Photoshop I Used AI to replace the sky and add the rocks. Without them the image was rather stark and drab.

Photoshop AI is so powerful nowadays. The photo will look less interesting if there are no rocks underneath the subject. Nice photo!   Posted: 10/18/2024 03:05:05

You are presenting an interesting look given your original Harley. I like the fact that we can see the man's face and it appears he is looking for a place to land. Your color in the image is good and so is the composition. I do like the stone break wall in the background giving the photo a bit of tension since I an hoping he does not land on that wall. I do think we need to see what is holding this guy in the air. We both know it is a kite from the original, but just to look at your finished product it seems he is hanging from something, but we don't know what.
By the way, you have really brought out a lot of detail and color in the new version vs. the original.   Posted: 10/18/2024 14:52:34

Thanks. I agree but the kite is probably 5 body lengths away and hard to frame. The one in the photo belongs to another. I agree about showing more if I had a different angle but did not.   Posted: 10/18/2024 16:55:24

Well, sometimes we just have to take what we get. They aren't all easy shots, just fun shots.   Posted: 10/27/2024 18:47:13

This is a great action shot. The rocks are interesting but so is the breakwater. With the rocks you have some spray with complements the spray off the board. It is strong as a vertical. I would tone down the color in the guy's face a bit.   Posted: 10/27/2024 19:14:13

You might consider doing this in landscape format rather than portrait in order to give him something to float into.   Posted: 10/27/2024 21:06:08

Hi Harley,
You did a good job catching this man in flight. The fact that you replaced everything except the main subject got to me wondering what could be done without using AI.
Did you manage to capture an image that shows the full parasail? I'm wondering how he is attached to it because the tension seems to be pulling forward. If you have a shot with the full sail, you could isolate the subject and call it "Air Time."
I used the Dehaze filter on the sky to bring out the blue and mist that is there, then tried to lighten up the subject. It's not an improvement, but if the full sail were showing, it would be more interesting.   Posted: 10/28/2024 09:30:17
