About the Image(s)

Leaning Tower of Piza – Summer 1969
I made this photograph while on the Grand Tour of Europe in the summer of 1969 with a group of students from White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas.

Camera: Minolta SR-1 (This is the camera that I purchased second hand to learn photography. It is completely manual; therefore, I had to set shutter speed and aperture manually. The film ASA determined the sensitivity to light. I had an inexpensive handheld light meter, but most of the time it was easier and faster to use the Sunny 16 Rule to set shutter speed and aperture.)
Lens: probably Minolta 50 mm
Film: Kodak Etkachrome
Exposure: Sunny 16 Rule
Scanner: EPSON PERFECTION V700 PHOTO
Photo Processing Software: Luminar Neo

Technology has come really far for sure. I would have removed the dust marks on the photo. Nice memory!   Posted: 05/10/2023 15:41:32

Great subject. Would definitely clean up the dust spots. Composition would have been more pleasing if the cropping weren't so tight.   Posted: 05/13/2023 11:51:50

It brings back memories, when we were in Pisa. I feel that you need to straighten up the church. Now you can see the tower leaning. The dust spots also have to be removed. But it's a nice shot.   Posted: 05/15/2023 12:59:44
