November 2021 - Elk in the Smoky's

About the Image(s)

Elk in the Smoky's: I took this picture last week as we were driving through the Smoky Mountain National Park on a cloudy day. I cropped the image and processed through Topaz Denoise and made minor adjustments of highlights and shadows in Lightroom.

Nikon D500 300mm, ISO 2800, 1/1000, f/6.3

Thanks a lot!

Great shot. Composition is strong with an excellent crop. Background is nicely blurred and your subject stands out well in the frame. Lighting is beautiful and the elk is very sharp. I love the tongue. It adds some humor to the image. Eyes have some catch light and are quite visible to the viewer. Super job. No room for improvement that could suggest.   Posted: 11/10/2021 09:54:05

great shot. I have received criticism in the past when the tongue is out on animals but I love it.   Posted: 11/10/2021 10:03:05

As the others have said, this is a nice picture. The tongue feels like a defiant gesture, much like the attitude of the darn deer that I try to discourage from coming into our yard.   Posted: 11/11/2021 10:04:14
