October Moon by Robert Schleif

November 2021 - October Moon

About the Image(s)

Being stuck at home, this month I turned away from nearby objects to the moon. The moon through the windblown trees with partly cloudy skies was an irrestible subject. I had envisioned the leaves as sharply defined, but a half second exposure at IO 4000, f/5.6 with a 70-200 mm f/4 L lens with the moon mainly obscured allowed the combined motion of the leaves and clouds to produce this somewhat mysterious or sinister image.

This image is more about the feelings it evokes, rather than a record of the scene. I think you did very well with the bw treatment. The blurred leaves and the swirling clouds definitely create a unique mood here. Well done and appropriate to the season.   Posted: 11/01/2021 15:33:15

Yes, I agree with Dorinda. Your image absolutely evokes feelings of...I would say "spookiness" and drama. I like the position of the moon in the frame. As the subject, it stands out just enough to make an impact. Good job.   Posted: 11/03/2021 18:35:12

I can't say much more the Dorinda and Holly has said. A very interesting image of the Moon and Sky in black and white.   Posted: 11/05/2021 10:21:44

interesting image. I would try it without the upper trees.   Posted: 11/10/2021 09:55:46
