About the Image(s)

This shot was taken in Italy in 2010 on a farm which makes organic wines. I was taken in by the texture of the ropes, the way they angled up, and the texture on the wall. I was also taken in by the natural light which gave more of a dramatic feel to the ropes. I used a Canon 50D; 24-70 MM Lens; 1/15 Sec; F50; ISO 400. For post processing I used Photoshop to darken the areas which were too bright, and to light the very dark areas. I also used Topaz to bring out some of the textures.

I like the different ropes and the wall as well as the fact that this image covers the full range of luminosities, from pure black to pure white. I'd like it still more if the contrast were higher as I like B & W to be quite contrasty.   Posted: 06/03/2021 14:46:39

It's a nice pile of ropes. I agree with Robert, I also would like to see a little more contrast, which would make the ropes stand out a little more.   Posted: 06/09/2021 11:51:23

The textures of the ropes come out really well in the photograph. I agree with others regarding the black and white contrast.   Posted: 06/09/2021 15:18:20
