About the Image(s)

This shot was taken in while traveling through South Africa in August of 2020. I shot this with my Canon EOS 50D while traveling on a bus. I was captivated with way the sun reflected on the mountains and how certain parts of the mountains look like cut out statutes. I also loved the colors on the mountainside.

I used a 19-35 MM Lens with a FL of 26.00MM; Exp 1/160 Sec; ISO 100.

For Processing I used Photoshop to enhance the foliage and dodged the dark areas in the mountain to bring out the dark areas. I did not want to touch the sky as it was a clear blue sky which I think enhanced
the photo and did not want to make it look fake.

I do not see anything wrong with the photo. For me it just lacks interest.   Posted: 05/10/2021 15:58:19

The colors are very nice. I'd like it more if there were something in the foreground.   Posted: 05/12/2021 16:55:01

I appreciate your comments but what held my interest are the images within the mountain, especially after post production processing . I could have cropped closer to mountain but I liked the colors in the fields. Art is different to everyone and we see the see differently. So I did not expect this to appeal to everyone but I do appreciate your feedback.   Posted: 05/12/2021 17:01:00

I wonder if reducing the brightness of the regions that are less important would emphasize the regions are are important. I, myself, am most interested in the three central rock outcroppings.   Posted: 05/16/2021 15:09:00

That is a good suggestion. I like the outline of the mountain itself for I think it adds interest but I did not think of darkening the elongated area. I see the three images in so many different ways and wanted to bring it out. I will try your suggestion. Thanks.   Posted: 05/16/2021 16:02:06

Colors are very nice and I like the detail throughout the image. I would like to see a focal point that would add more interest.   Posted: 05/25/2021 17:14:17

I think the "statues" and the variety of colors are interesting. I wonder if there is any historical significance to these mountains.   Posted: 05/26/2021 00:32:51
