About the Image(s)

This was a quick one, I just did it today. I did some shots of the mannequin last year in the light box, and although I didn't start with this one originally, it's the one I ended up using. The background is Marble Canyon in Death Valley. I added a night sky to create more of an other worldly mood, then flipped, cut and pasted the mannequin into the scene. I used the Hue adjustment to color the mannequin and added an outer glow. Of course, it needed something else so I found a shot of the desert iguana and placed him on the rock, added a bit of shadow and darkened the ground. Then I had to think of a title, lol. I thought an other worldly creature might be surprised to see another creature on the path, so hence the title.

Hi Jan,
Very well done composite. The only suggestion is that the lighting on the Iguana could be improved. It looks like the lighting is coming from the mannequin, otherwise it is night and very little light would be on Iguana. So the Iguana should be dark on the left side with a shadow on the left as well.   Posted: 10/04/2021 16:13:49

Thanks Tom, I did go back and rework the iguana to give it a little more dimension. Thanks for the comment!   Posted: 10/19/2021 00:52:51

Jan, I very much like this image. It has a very playful and thought provoking quality. I'm not bothered by the lighting of the Iguana. Having a glowing mannequin releases the viewer from having to apply usual conventions. I really enjoy being part of this talented group of artists who continue to explore creative boundaries.   Posted: 10/06/2021 23:59:36

Jan, your creative playing just bubbles forth in creative images! I don't know how you can start with nothing, find elements to add and end up with something so creative. You challenge me to photograph everything I see on the chance I can use it in some way in the future.

This is top bar work!

Brad has said very well how you challenge us all.   Posted: 10/12/2021 13:23:14
