About the Image(s)

Last year we visited the United Kingdom for 11 days and saw many lovely churches. We travelled to the northern part of England to a town called York. We had a guided tour by our group leader Andrew and his charming wife. We visited York Minster, perhaps the most impressive church of our trip. The church was humongous. There was some restoration going on, so I had to do some cloning of some scaffolding. I had not brought a wide enough lens for my camera so I pulled out my back up camera (iphone) and had plenty of “wide”. There are not a lot of settings to report other then f1.8 and 4.25mm (whatever that converts to) I think 30mm.
I know we don't usually do this, but I put together an adobe express web page of our trip. Thought you might get a kick out of this. Just click on the link below and start scrolling down as it is just one continuous page.

Nice picture, very hard to get it all in (and shows the usefulness of a smart phone). And hard to get everything straight and symmetrical). You have done a reasonable job at cloning out the scaffolding (I suspect there will be building work on the minster for the next 200 years) but once one knows about it the wavy lines do tend to give it away. Maybe better to crop in further but that's just me.   Posted: 11/17/2023 09:39:52

Hi Don, Taking photos of super large buildings like this does come with a suitcase of problems. You seem to have corrected most of them in your processed image. I do like your crop to make the image symmetrical.   Posted: 11/18/2023 21:09:35

Don, your York Minster is perfectly done in my humble opinion. But the added bonus are the images in your Adobe Express web page. I felt as though I were exploring London with you. Thanks!

Hello Don, I like the processing you have done with the image. The blue and golds and light is very pretty. I might try to have the left side bring up the gold a bit more to make it more symmetrical. The gold makes it really regal.   Posted: 11/20/2023 12:52:32

Hi Don,
Nice shot. Good job cloning out the scaffolding! You have a tiny fraction more on the bottom right side than on the left. Is it possible to increase the saturation in the windows to show the colors of the stained glass? I really enjoyed going through your entire website. Beautiful photos! I was just in the UK for the first time 4 years ago but only had 1 or 2 days in London. I'll never forget getting lost at St. Paul's Cathedral after walking across that darn pedestrian bridge and couldn't find my tour bus!   Posted: 11/20/2023 20:23:57
